The Home of the World Figure 8® is very excited to announce the return of our monthly television show, Speedrome Live! This proclamation comes as the eastside Indianapolis short track begins its 69th season of spectacular competition. The revival of this show will be broadcast with our friends at HomeTown Sports Indiana, channel 81 on Comcast Cable and Bright House Networks. The episodes will also be available via On Demand as well as on www.speedrome.com. The 30-minute programs are tentatively set to air on Wednesday’s from 6-6:30pm beginning in May and ending in September with several re-broadcasts.
These programs are made possible thanks to our television sponsors Dad’s Truck & Auto, EMAS, Hart’s Auto Center, Jerry Steele Auto Sales, Scooter’s Auto Sales, and Jonathan Byrd’s Cafeteria. Just one more sponsorship spot remains, to join this wonderful list of companies e-mail us at ads@speedrome.com or call the track hotline at (317) 353-8206. Speedrome Live will showcase the short track superstars during these telecasts. It is a pioneering circumstance that will benefit drivers, teams, sponsors, and everyone involved at the historic facility.
Longtime fans may remember the previous incarnation of Speedrome Live almost a decade ago on the TV station owner by renowned escape artist Bill Shirk. The very popular show will be along that same great format with guests, video clips from recent races (provided thanks to videographer Keith Graybill), point updates, stats, and even some interaction from the fans. This 2010 version will be hosted by regional media personality Greg Rakestraw. “I am proud to a part of this showcase”, stated the familiar sports voice. “Airing on HomeTown Sports will bring Speedrome Live into over 500,000 homes in the Indianapolis area”. Also joining in on the telecast will be Speedrome News Director Scott Nigh. Look for other announcements pertaining to Speedrome events for HomeTown coming soon.
