NEAT, FULTS, ARTHUR, NORRIS FINISH FIRST IN FEATURES
There was a special race Saturday night August 11th at the Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech. It was the Toby Eads Memorial 40 for the Shelbyville Auto Parts Thundercars. Point leader Nate Canter was Lawrence Towing’s $100 fastest qualifier in a tight session with a lap of 14.705 seconds. He drew an invert of 10 for the 20-car feature lineup. April-May-June champ EJ Neat put on a command performance from his 2nd starting spot to win the $1,000 winner’s check. Aaron Smay survived a lengthy major battle to finish in second place and Canter third. A big thank you goes out to the Eads family for making this a great event.....click to read more


TUNNY, RIDDLE, EDSALL CLAIM SATURDAY CHECKERS
A beautiful summer evening greeted fans and racers alike Saturday August 11th at the Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech. The show closer was a Brown’s Oil Service Late Model 50-lap Figure 8. Veterans Jeff Shackelford and Charlie Hargraves dueled early for the lead of the event. A red flag restart brought a new pair of spirited battlers, Ben Tunny and Steve Durham, to the front. Ben better a couple late restarts to garner his 9th Figure 8 victory of the campaign. “Bull” Durham equaled a career best second followed by Mike Riddle Jr in third.....click to read more


“THE OUTLAW” WINS FIGURE 8, MILLER MARCHES TO CIRCLE CITY CLASH VICTORY
The Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech had its fifth mile sizzle with a big night August 4th. The Brown’s Oil Service Late Model main event was a wild 50-lap Figure 8. The majority was a battle between Cory Harmon and Steve Durham until the leading Durham was collected at the crossover. Jesse Tunny would work past Harmon to take the victory. Earlier oval feature winner Austin Tunny was second and Cory third. The 25-lap oval podium was rounded out by Chris Green and Mike Riddle Jr. Ben Tunny was the fast qualifier, Riddle and Jeff Smith captured heat races.....click to read more

The Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech launched a doubleheader racing weekend on Friday August 3rd. The Brown’s Oil Service Late Models headlined with a 50-lap Figure 8. There was an epic first half duel between Casey White and Tim Logue. A mid race red brought on a wild restart. Tommy St John made it 3 wide but contact unfortunately affected the trio’s traction. MOORE WINS ON MONSTER EVENING OF MOTORSPORTS
The Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech was a busy place Saturday July 28th. A whopping 126 race cars in 9 features entertained a huge throng of fans who came to meet the drivers in the annual autograph session and brought toys for the yearly Tom Wood Christmas charity drive. CHRISTMAS IN JULY, MEET THE DRIVERS, TONS OF RACING, & MORE SATURDAY JULY 28TH
Join us this Saturday July 28th for one special evening of events. It is Christmas in July at the Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech. This is the kickoff effort for the Tom Wood Group’s annual Avondale Meadows YMCA Toy Drive. Fans who bring a new, unwrapped toy this Saturday night will receive $2 off their spectator admission. Many of the kids and their families from the Avondale Meadows area will be with us Saturday for a night of racing and fun. SATURDAY SEES FIRST LATE MODEL FEATURE SWEEP OF 2018
July 14th had a semi-rare happening in the Brown’s Oil Service Late Models, a sweep of the oval and figure 8 features. Reigning series champ Ben Tunny continued his incomparable season by producing the feat this past Saturday. In the 25-lap oval, he slid around early leader Todd Shelby and went on to victory. Shelby was second and Quentin White third. In the Figure 8, the red sea parted for Ben as he went past Shelby, Steve Durham, Donnie Murphy, and John Conner Jr in one swoop to take his 8th crossover win. This Saturday July 14th has something for everyone at the Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech. With the excessive heat and humidity forecasted, the program has been pushed back a bit from the familiar starting time. The first race will now blast off at 8pm. Pit gates open at 5pm with the spectator entrance opening at 6pm. Tickets are $10. Seniors, military, & first responders are $8. Ages 9 to 12 are $5. FIREWORKS + RACING = GREAT FAMILY FUN SATURDAY JULY 7TH
Fireworks night presented by USA Insulation has been one of the most popular events each year at the Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech. Our friends at Circle City Pyrotechnics have prepared a wonderful presentation of color, sparkle, and sound. The display will be featured in the air as well as on the track surface. A large crowd is expected. Seating is all general admission. Tickets are $15 for those ages 13 and up. Ages 9 to 12 are $10. Kids under 9 are free. BEN, DON, NATE, KYLE HOIST TUESDAY CHECKERED FLAGS
It was an intense and exciting Brown’s Oil Service Late Model 75 lap Figure 8 Tuesday July 3rd at the Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech. The midweek lineup included stars from out of town challenging the home track talent for a $2,000 top prize. Ronnie Basham III and RJ Norton Jr were upfront early before being joined in the first-place pursuit by cousins Mark and Ben Tunny. Mark got the spot and pushed to a nice advantage until heavy traffic hampered his progress. Ben worked thru Norton then Basham and started reeling in the leader. The last third of the race was scintillating as the top two battled all the way. Ben came out on top for his 7th win of the year. Mark was second and Ronnie third.....click to read more


NEAT, BROWN EARN TITLES ON TOM WOOD NIGHT AT THE RACES
It was a super hot June 30th at the Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech. The first of two April-May-June championship finales came in the Shelbyville Auto Parts Thundercars. Veteran EJ Neat marched home to a runner-up result in the 25-lap feature, just one spot ahead of points rival and past champion Dale Harper, to claim his first division crown. The April-May-June point championships come to a close this Saturday evening June 30th at the Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome powered by Lincoln Tech. The Shelbyville Auto Parts Thundercars and Last Chance Wrecker Factory Front Wheel Drives will each settle standings bragging rights for the first half of the year. INVADERS WHITAKER & WARE TAKE WINS, SIZEMORE HOLDS HOME TURF
Stock cars took center stage Saturday June 23rd at the Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech with the 22nd running of the Advance Auto Sales 100. Competitors from several series and tracks came to play against the hometown talent. Kentuckiana’s Mark Whitaker blazed the clocks in qualifying at 12.853 seconds and earn the pole against the 30-car field. LIGGETT, ARMOUR, OSBORNE REACH SPEEDROME MAIN EVENT MOUNTAIN TOP
It was another mega-night June 23rd at the Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech. The Last Chance Wrecker Factory Front Wheel Drives had their first major of the season with the Chip Branham Memorial 44. 43 cars were entered for this penultimate round of the April-May-June championship. A trio of those title contenders would be in the exciting sprint to the checkered flag. Joseph Liggett would have the lead, lose the lead, and regain it all in the final circuit to post his initial victory of the campaign. The biggest win of his career eased the pain a bit from last Saturday’s disappointing wheel failure while leading with the finish in sight. Rounding out the Branham race top ten finishers were Jess Holliday, Scott Stewart Jr, Andrew Brown, Ricky Johnson, Tylar Brown, Jeff Thinnes, Jeremy Tunny, Barry Turner, and Dave Lester.....click to read more


JESSE TUNNY JOINS EXCLUSIVE 3-TIME JAKES 150 WINNERS CLUB
12 lead changes among 4 drivers and a car that was upside down during the clash returning to finish the race (Chris Green) were just some of the highlights during an amazing 18th annual Jake’s 150 lap Figure 8 at the Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech. The June 16th program for the Brown’s Oil Service Late Models started with time trails. Reigning point champ Ben Tunny was quickest at 17.361 seconds. He then drew a 14 car invert for the main event lineup. Mike Riddle Jr received a $200 bonus from Octobuilt Performance Differentials for qualifying 8th. Father’s Day eve was a hot and wild one at the Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech. The Last Chance Wrecker Factory Front Wheel Drives had a season-high 45 cars ready for action. Heat races were captured by Tim Smith, Jeremy Tunny, Michael McKinnon, and Trae Bowman. Crafty veteran Smith worked to the front near midway and drove off to the win in the first 20 lap “A” feature He was followed by rookie point leader Bowman and overall standings topper Andrew Brown. The second “A” main saw former top freshman Marc Bisson earn his first feature triumph of 2018 holding off the hard charge from former series king Don VanValkenburg III. MCCRACKEN TAKES DERBY, MILLER WINS NATIONAL QUALIFIER
The Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech hosted its most unique motorsports program of the year Saturday June 9th. Headlining the wild side portion was a 22-car front wheel drive demolition derby. After lots of crowd-wowing smashes and crashes, it wound down to 3 surviving bumper-bashers. Alex McCracken was the last man standing over Brad Brooks and Graylann Grayer. Brooks was the victor earlier in the 15-lap thrilling trailer figure 8 topping “real deal” Willinger Neal and Jedi Cluxton. Andy McDowell gassed the 8-car bracket in the street legal oval drags. 2 historic Figure 8 families had intent on extending their legacies on Saturday night June 2nd, but many other talented racers had other ideas about that plan in the 2nd Annual Spring Shootout 90-minute Figure 8. The Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech had an amazing crowd on hand to bear witness to all the intersection interaction. Qualifications produced a unique and rare feat, a tie for fast time! Cousins Mark and Austin Tunny earned identical 16.241 second laps.
