JESSE TUNNY JOINS EXCLUSIVE 3-TIME JAKES 150 WINNERS CLUB
12 lead changes among 4 drivers and a car that was upside down during the clash returning to finish the race (Chris Green) were just some of the highlights during an amazing 18th annual Jake’s 150 lap Figure 8 at the Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech. The June 16th program for the Brown’s Oil Service Late Models started with time trails. Reigning point champ Ben Tunny was quickest at 17.361 seconds. He then drew a 14 car invert for the main event lineup. Mike Riddle Jr received a $200 bonus from Octobuilt Performance Differentials for qualifying 8th. Many great fans and small businesses also poured an additional $3000 into the purse via $20 per lap leader bonuses.....click to read more


SMITH, BISSON, BROWN, NEAT, REACH VICTORY LANE
Father’s Day eve was a hot and wild one at the Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech. The Last Chance Wrecker Factory Front Wheel Drives had a season-high 45 cars ready for action. Heat races were captured by Tim Smith, Jeremy Tunny, Michael McKinnon, and Trae Bowman. Crafty veteran Smith worked to the front near midway and drove off to the win in the first 20 lap “A” feature He was followed by rookie point leader Bowman and overall standings topper Andrew Brown. The second “A” main saw former top freshman Marc Bisson earn his first feature triumph of 2018 holding off the hard charge from former series king Don VanValkenburg III. MCCRACKEN TAKES DERBY, MILLER WINS NATIONAL QUALIFIER
The Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech hosted its most unique motorsports program of the year Saturday June 9th. Headlining the wild side portion was a 22-car front wheel drive demolition derby. After lots of crowd-wowing smashes and crashes, it wound down to 3 surviving bumper-bashers. Alex McCracken was the last man standing over Brad Brooks and Graylann Grayer. Brooks was the victor earlier in the 15-lap thrilling trailer figure 8 topping “real deal” Willinger Neal and Jedi Cluxton. Andy McDowell gassed the 8-car bracket in the street legal oval drags. THIS SATURDAY IS A UNIQUE & ENTERTAINING EVENING OF MOTORSPORTS
This Saturday June 9th is a one-of-a-kind night at the Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome powered by Lincoln Tech. The main event is the pinnacle of smashing and bashing, a Front Wheel Drive demolition derby. Participants will aim to knock out the opposition while hoping to avoid their own destruction. The last one still mobile wins. Tickets are $10. $8 for seniors, military, & first responders. $5 for ages 9 to 12. Free for ages 8 and under. Spectator gates open at 5pm. Pit gates open at 4pm. AUSTIN TUNNY VICTORIOUS IN $10,000-TO-WIN SPRING SHOOTOUT FIGURE 8
2 historic Figure 8 families had intent on extending their legacies on Saturday night June 2nd, but many other talented racers had other ideas about that plan in the 2nd Annual Spring Shootout 90-minute Figure 8. The Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech had an amazing crowd on hand to bear witness to all the intersection interaction. Qualifications produced a unique and rare feat, a tie for fast time! Cousins Mark and Austin Tunny earned identical 16.241 second laps. HACKNEY, NEAT WIN FIGURE 8’S ON SPRING SHOOTOUT SATURDAY
An incredible crowd was on hand Saturday June 2nd at the Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome Powered by Lincoln Tech for the Spring Shootout 90-Minute Figure 8. Fans were also treated to some intense action from the thrill-seeking drivers in the Shelbyville Auto Parts Thundercar and Last Chance Wrecker Factory Front Wheel Drives. No points were on the line, so racers let it all hang out in a pair of 30-lap Figure 8 challenges.....click to read more


ANDREW YOUNG CONCERT TO LAUNCH SPRING SHOOTOUT FIGURE 8 WEEKEND
The Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome powered by Lincoln Tech is proud to announce a cool kickoff to our newest big event weekend. Friday June 1st will feature a main event of Sony music artist Andrew Young live in concert on the track. Spectator admission is just $5 with all ages welcome. Before Andrew takes the stage around 9pm, a full evening of open Figure 8 practice is on the agenda for the Spring Shootout 90-Minute Figure 8, Thundercar Figure 8, and Factory FWD Figure 8 cars. TUNNY, HARGRAVES, MILLER TAME SPEEDROME FEATURES
Two series topped the marque Saturday night May 19th at the Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome powered by Lincoln Tech. The Brown’s Oil Service Late Model 50-lap Figure 8 first saw freshman Tommy St John lead before being eclipsed by former top rookie Jacob Garrigus on a restart. Trouble came of the 45th circuit when contact with another car ended Jacob’s run. Ben Tunny bested brother Jesse on the restart for his 3rd straight Figure 8 win. The victory moved him into 7th on the all-time division list. Jesse was a strong second. St John finished 3rd in his second ever Figure 8 start.....click to read more

The Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome powered by Lincoln Tech was blessed once again with a great crowd, fantastic field of race cars, and some sizzling weather on Saturday May 12th. Besides automobile racing was the kickoff to our annual bike racing series. It was pedal-power for round one with big wheel action. The top five in the 3 & under contest was Mason Summers, Andrew Proffitt, Emma Tunny, Walker Hargraves, and Novah Greer. Now you too can become an integral part of this Brown’s Oil Service Late Model division event! Fans and company’s alike have the opportunity to sponsor a lap for just $20 each. And 100% of your lap sponsorship will go to the driver who leads that lap. That means if a driver leads all 150 laps plus the race prize money, they could take home a grand total of $4,750. It was a milestone night for the premier class at the Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome powered by Lincoln Tech. The Brown’s Oil Service Late Models reached a historic 1,000th points paying event on Saturday May 5th. For nearly 40 years this unique division of hand-created machines and uniquely-skilled drivers that compete on both the oval and figure 8 courses has thrilled thousands upon thousands of fans. DRIVERS BRING IT ON BEAUTIFUL BEGINNING TO MAY RACING
The Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome powered by Lincoln Tech saw many smiling fans and anxious teams ready to compete on the first really good weather night of the season. The Last Chance Wrecker Factory Front Wheel Drives began their agenda with heat races. Charlie Watkins, Marc Bisson, Stephen Egner, and Chuck Watkins scored wins. The “A” main had Scott Stewart Jr overcome early leader Charlie Watkins for his second triumph of 2018. Fellow title contenders Joseph Liggett and Andrew Brown completed the podium. The “B” feature saw Billy Bartholomew Jr capture his first-ever victory. Brad Ransdell was a career best second followed by veteran Junior Lemasters.....click to read more


JACK DOSSEY JR TO ENTER THE SPEEDROME HALL OF FAME MAY 26TH
The Tom Wood Group Indianapolis Speedrome powered by Lincoln Tech is extremely proud to announce that Jack Dossey Jr will be inducted into its Hall of Fame on Saturday night May 26th. Racing that night is headlined by the “Big Ed” Bishop Memorial 75-Lap Figure 8 for the Brown’s Oil Service Late Models. The pairing of the induction ceremony and this race is a perfect match. Ed, who is also in the Speedrome Hall of Fame, owned cars driven by Dossey to numerous victories and titles. Racing will begin at 7pm May 26th with the Hall of Fame ceremony around 8:30pm.....click to read more
